Honda Brio, value for money
Honda India has made its fresh entry in the Indian hatchback market with Honda Brio. It is the second offering of the company in hatchback segment after Honda Jazz. Honda Jazz is a premium hatch which is tagged very high comparing to other hatchbacks in India. It was first launched in Japan market and its spy shots was available on INTERNET . Since then, Car became one of the most awaited small car in the Indian car market. It is the cheapest and most affordable Honda car in the country and provides all the important features in low price.
Honda Brio is available in four different models that are Brio E MT, S MT, S option MT and Brio V MT. Honda Brio price for the base variant Brio E MT is tagged at Rs. 3.95 lakhs and the two mid variants S MT and S option MT are tagged at Rs. 4.35 Lakh and Rs. 4.90 Lakh respectively. The high end variant Brio V MT is priced at Rs. 5.10 lakh
The car is styled with so much grace and charm which surely make it one of the most stylish car in the Indian auto industry. The most interesting feature in the car is its rear side which would be one of the selling component of the car as it enhances its looks. The back lights of Brio has been placed at lower end and the rear side is completely made with glass.
Honda Brio is powered by 1.2 Liter engine that is directly lifted from Honda Jazz. This car has wonderful displacement of 1198 cc which is one of the best in terms of engine in the hatchback segment. The engine is capable of generating a peak power of 88 PS at 6000 rpm and belts out peak torque of 109 Nm at 4600 rpm.
The overall length of the car measures 3.6 meters which also provides a roomy interior and decent boot space as well. For first time drivers it is the best car to drive as it is easy to control this car. The engine of the car is coupled with five speed manual transmissions. The steering wheel of the car is also electronically powered which provides a comfortable ride. The good quality Macpherson strut suspension is positioned in the front of the car. The disc brakes (ventilated disc type) at the front wheels while the rear brakes are of drum type.
This small car Brio also comes loaded with ABS (Anti-lock braking system) which improve its braking system and makes it more powerful and reliable. The ABS system with ESP ( Electric Stability Program) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce distribution) makes it one of the safe car and avoids skidding during its runs on slippery roads.Car offers a stiff competition to already established entry level cars in India like Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Swift and WagonR, Tata Indica, Hyundai's i10, Ford's Figo, Nissan Micra and Volkswagen Polo.
