Steps for making the System Recovery Disk for Windows XP and Windows Vista
Select the “start” tab which is located on the bottom left side of the screen. From this the start menu will appear on the screen.

Click on the “accessories” tab in the Windows XP system. This will pop up another menu. In the Windows Vista system, click on the option of “Maintenance”.

After this insert the CD or the DVD into the CD drive of the system. This will create the Vista System Recovery Disk for the Vista operating system users.
For the users of Windows XP, click on the tab of “backup”. This will open the Window of "Welcome to the Backup or Restore Wizard". Click on the option of “Advanced” and the press the icon of “Automated Recovery Wizard”. Select the “Next tab for selecting the location on which you want to take the backup of all the data.
Again click on the “next” icon and the wizard will show the information, which is about to initiate the automated system recovery process. Select the “Finish” tab and the process of creating the backup will start. This might take at least 25 minutes and so it is advised not to disturb the system while the process is continuing. Put the floppy disk into the floppy drive and it will restore the backup disk image.
Select the “OK” tab and you can find all the files which are being copied. Press the “OK” tab and the system recovery disk is ready for use. But in case of any emergency support for hard drive crash, taking the tech support is suitable and best alternative.
