Small car segment in India


The Indian hatchback car market is flourishing at a rate which never seen before. Around 70 per cent of small and compact cars are manufactured and imported out of the total. Tata Motors and Maruti India the major players that ruled this hatchback segment gives a tough competition to the other car manufacturers. This hatchback segment has witnessed a tremendous improvement in terms of design, novelty, technology and value for money. The South Korean auto biggie Hyundai, launched its fourth hatchback-Hyundai EON in India. Biebg produced at the Indian plant the new Hyundai EON has been designed and developed keeping the Indian customer’s in mind. The new Hyundai Eon has stirred the competition in the under Rs 3 lakh price range. The new Hyundai EON price at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for its base variant goes all the way upto Rs 3.71 lakh. With such a competitive price tag it yells tough competition to the top players like Maruti India and homegrown Tata Motors. Since after its launch the car received the overwhelming response as the car is perfectly perceived by the Indian audience. The price and performance of the car has created the threat to Maruti India and forced the company to re launch its most popular flagship Maruti 800.
