Self Growth

Self Growth includes activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and facilitates employability, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations. The concept is not limited to self-help but includes formal and informal activities for developing others, in roles such as teacher, guide, counselor, manager, coach, or mentor. Finally, as personal development takes place in the context of institutions, it refers to the methods, programs, tools, techniques, and assessment systems that support human development at the individual level in organizations.

Self growth is a journey that anyone who wants to excel in life must take. It does not matter in what area you want to excel and progress, whether it be in your business, in your work, in your studies, in your marriage or in your spirituality. All aspects of our lives can only truly improve if we take responsibility for their improvement. The greatest area of such improvement that will impact all other areas of our lives, is improving ourselves.

self improvement and self growth improve the quality of life. There is no such thing as an instant fix. Upon starting any self-improvement program, most people usually encounter inner resistance that come from their old habits and their subconscious mind, and also resistance and opposition from the people around them. Self-improvement begins with self-understanding, knowing your true potential and of being aware that you are unique. Improvement can be measured in many ways, in a variety of contexts. What really does matter is how the individual sees his or her self, and what they would perceive as improvement to that self.

The subconscious mind is one of the major keys to self improvement and self growth. By changing the contents of the subconscious mind you change your habits, behavior and attitudes. This is brought about through visualization, affirmations, meditation and by analyzing behavior and habits. The process of inner change requires inner work. It is not enough to read articles and books. You also have to practice what you read, and this requires time and effort. There is no such thing as instant self improvement. Inner changes take some time, and there must be motivation, desire, ambition, perseverance and dedication. Outer and inner resistance and opposition must be taken into account too. When you start a self improvement program, it is common to encounter inner resistance that comes from your old habits and from your subconscious mind, and also resistance and opposition from the people around you.

The mind is the thing that we must stretch in order to broaden our reality and capabilities. Without a stretched and open mind that is receptive to new ideas and information, self growth is impossibility. But with such openness and receptivity to new ideas comes great responsibility. This is because not every idea or theory is correct. Some things are wrong and some things are dangerous and can be destructive.

Therefore, we must use our judgments and discernment in deciding what ideas to accept and what ideas to reject. Accepting correct ideas and information will lead to success. Accepting wrong ideas and information can lead to failure and frustration. The desire to change, build new habits and improve must be strong enough to resist any laziness, desire to give up and the ridicule or opposition from family, friends or colleagues. You need to have the right knowledge in order to navigate the unpredictable terrain of life.
